Brussels is the capital of the European Union. Some parts of it are not so interesting, but a lot of it is very interesting. It is well worth visiting. It has nice musea, a few thousand restaurants, a lot of nice pubs and brasseries in the French style and it is one of the greenest cities of Europe.

Brussels , Cheap stuff:

There are a lot of cheap secondhand shops where they sell books (FR, ENG, NL...), cd's and dvd's on the Bouelvard Lemonnier/Lemonnierlaan, between the Bourse/Beurs and the Place Fontainas/Fontainasplein and in the Rue du Midi/Zuidstraat, not far from the Place Fontainas/Fontainasplein. Especially the Pêle Mêle (Bouelvard Lemonnier/Lemonnierlaan 55) is well worth a visit. Thousands of books are waiting for you!

Brussels , Safety:

In my opinion, Brussels is a very safe city. I have been working iin Brussels over 20 years, and never anything happened to me. But you should look after your stuff in big train stations, like everywhere else.

The Bay Area has a population of approximately 7.2 million people. San Francisco is famous for his step rolling hills and mediterranean climate. It is one of the most visited cities in the US.

Golden Gate Bridge, Alacatraz Island, cable cars, Coit Tower, Chinatown, Golden Gate Park, Alamo Square, Palace of Fine Arts,Union Square, as well as some of its beautiful neighborhoods such as Russian Hill, Nob Hill, North Beach, Pacific Heights, SOMA and the Mission District.

San Francisco , Food:

San Francisco is renowned for its restaurants. "The City" as it is called by locals has some of the best Asian and Californian Cuisine around. It also has large variety of other kinds of ethnic food.

San Francisco , Hotels:

There are beautiful hotels everywhere in the city. Some of the more famous (and expensive) are: The Fairmount, Ritz Carlton, The Mark Hopkins Intercontental, The Palace, Standford Court, The Huntington and Hotel Nikko.

San Francisco , Safety:

Like most large American cities some neighborhoods are safer than others. If you stick to the main tourist areas you should be quite safe. Just be careful in the Tenderloin at night.
