Located on the southern tip of New Zealand's North Island. Wellington is a town like no other in New Zealand. Its renowned for being very friendly, very liberal and full of incredibly interesting people.

Cuba Street in the middle of Wellington City Centre is usually thriving with buskers, jugglers and people wearing no shoes and piercings all of the place.

Wellington , Cheap stuff:

The asian food and sushi is excellent and incredibly cheap.

Wellington has more cafe's per capita than New York and Wellingtonians are incredibly proud of having some of the best coffee in the world!

Blanket Man! The City's superstar homeless guy - wearing only a blanket - even in winter - he is a local hero. Often found on Cuba Street smoking pot - he is always listening to his ipod, greets passers by with a little wink and has his own religion and political party!

Te Papa - fantastic museum of all things Kiwi. Be warned you can spend a full day walking round and seeing the exhibitions etc.

Breakfast/Lunch:

Cafe L'affare just off Tory Street is excellent. Cafe Delux on Cambridge Terrace also has fantastic organic coffee and the best gluten free muffins in Wellington. Also of note are Dixon St Deli and Victoria St Cafe. Coffee is excellent everywhere.

Dinner:

Highlights include Flying Burrito Brothers, Logan Brown and Hede.

Wellington , Safety:

Very safe city. Often surprised to see young women walking alone at 2am down the high street.

Some homeless people in the centre of town but they are mostly harmless and often quite friendly.

Beautiful city lying in the red river valley. Small city with everything any other large city has. takes about 50 minutes to an hour to drive across the city. metro population in and around 710,000. Capital city of Manitoba,Canada.

Osbourne Village, the most cultural and diverse area of Winnipeg just outside Downtown ,featuring many restaurants and shops for every walk of life of coarse including sushi lovers. Everything from gothic stores and tatoo places to a custom futon place and antique shop, along with small stores specializing in modern fashions and accessories.

Folklorama Festival and Fringe festival, two huge festivals in winnipeg in summer time. in February dont miss Festival Du Voyageur, the largest winter kitchen festival in the world.

Winnipeg has the most restaurants per capita than any other place in Canada, if not the world. you will find everything from fantastic greek restaurants to ritzy steak houses or a la carte franchises. Favourites include The Current Restaurant and Lounge at the Inn At The Forks and Buccacinos on Corydon.

Winnipeg , Hotels:

Inn At The Forks is a must stay hotel, very elegant boutique hotel in the heart of down town at the forks, also beautiful historical Fort Garry Hotel, where Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Anne stayed on many occasions including when Winnipeg hosted the Americas at the 1999 Pan Am Games.

dont bike on the road.. or go into the North End area of winnipeg. everwhere else your very safe.
