City rating:
Crime in Carlsbad is higher than the national average. Dining out consists mainly of fast food joints. Nothing in the line of entertainment. And the town basically shuts down around 9PM. The city leaders are trying to make it a retirement town instaed of promoting tourists. The only outstanding feature is the Caverns and Lincoln Natl Forest.
