First information about Tashkent (earlier known as Shash, Chach, Binkent) dates back to the 2nd century B.C. Archaeological excavations have revealed that present-day Tashkent was a site of an ancient town which has continued to exist as a developed commercial and cultural center of the East, situated in the northern part of the Great Silk Route.
Nowadays, Tashkent is a very attractive and vibrant city. The roots of the rich Uzbek culture shine through Tashkent's architecture, museums and metro stations.

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia is known for quite a few things. It is the restaurant capital of the world owing to it's vast cultural mix. It has the largest Greek population of any city outside of Greece. It was the first city in the southern hemisphe to stage an olympic games [ 1952 ].

Melbourne actually has a larger greek population than any city outside Athens, not outside Greece. The population of every Greek city bar Athens is actually less than the Greek population of Melbourne.
